About Hopp
Hopp is on a mission to provide a crystal clear, fast and seamless way to pair program remotely.
Hopp is made by developers for developers, and we are fully open-source.
Our story 📜
We met as university friends and have been passionate about creating tools that make developer collaboration seamless. After years of dealing with laggy, frustrating screen-sharing tools (or super expensive ones), we decided to build something better.
Our values ⚖️
We are a team of 2 engineers building Hopp in the open. We have not raised any VC capital, and we do not intend to raise. We already invested multiple nights and weekends to make things work, and we want to maintain a fair degree of freedom.
To achieve this, we are building a sustainable business while allowing people to be able to contribute on our open-source repository, or even self-host Hopp (work-in-progress).
Our mission 🚀
We want to make remote pair programming as smooth as working side-by-side, wherever developers are in the world. To achieve this, we're building a platform that delivers ultra-low latency, crystal-clear resolution, and full remote control.
You don't need to be a FAANG developer to have access to a smooth remote pair programming experience. 🚀
Why Hopp? 🤔
There are excellent existing tools in the market but they are expensive, and closed-source. This makes them less viable for startups, small teams, budget-conscious organizations or large enterprises that prefer to self-host a solution.
Hopp enters the scene with a bold vision: to become the open-source alternative that ensures teams of all sizes and budgets can enjoy a high-quality pairing experience.
